Business District Coordinator position to focus on E. McMillan St. corridor revitalization
If you happen to see Carla Walker around Walnut Hills in the coming weeks, be sure to offer congratulations and a warm welcome; she’s our newest staff person, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on board as our Business District Coordinator! Ms. Walker has built a successful community, government, and public affairs career over the last 15 years which includes key roles in the offices of three Cincinnati Mayor’s, non-profit organizations, and on the Ohio State Legislative staff. While serving as Chief of Staff for Mayor Mallory, Walker wrote the winning 2008 Mayor’s Institute on City Design (MICD) grant which brought local and national experts to Walnut Hills for a two-day session to plot out a redevelopment strategy for the neighborhood. Walker was also on the leadership teams which launched several other large scale city-wide initiatives including the 2010 Census, Cincinnati Initiative to Reduce Violence, OPEN Cincinnati and GO Cincinnati. She serves on the Board of Directors for a number of organizations including Bad Girl Ventures, Cincinnati Opera and the Sister Cities International. A native Cincinnatian, she holds a BS from the University of Cincinnati and Master’s degrees from the University of Florida and Harvard.
