Walnut Hills is the most recent Cincinnati neighborhood to receive a Community Entertainment District (CED).
A CED is a tool for neighborhood revitalization that allows businesses within the CED to receive liquor licenses for the normal cost of $2,344.
On the open market, licenses typically sell for between $20,000 and $30,000. CED licenses may only go to food service businesses and must remain in the district.
Creating a CED allowed for the purchase and renovation of Fire Company 16, the oldest standing firehouse in Cincinnati. Fireside Pizza is opening in FC 16 in April! Walnut Hills will be receiving 7 CED licenses, one of which will go to Fire Company 16. Stayed tuned to find out what other exciting news this designation brings to the district!
