Pigs set to Fly through Walnut Hills

Flying Pig Half-Marathon to run along Gilbert Avenue Sunday, May 5th;
Harriet Beecher Stowe House needs Volunteers

The Flying Pig Half-Marathon will be running right down the center of Walnut Hills, along Gilbert Avenue from MLK south to Downtown. The race starts at 6:30am on Sunday, May 5th, so runners will start to appear in Walnut Hills shortly thereafter. There’s just something so mesmerizing about seeing crowds of people take over a major city street for hours and hours, and the runners will greatly appreciate your cheers.

But where to watch? Easy decision: go to the Harriet Beecher Stowe House (2950 Gilbert Avenue)! They’ll be hosting a viewing party on their lawn, with live music from the singer-songwriter trio of Raison D’Etre.

The Stowe House really needs volunteers to help pass out orange slices to runners, and will provide all volunteers with a delicious, homecooked, FREE breakfast. Based on who we know is cooking, we’ll go ahead and guarantee it will be good. If you can volunteer, please send a Facebook message to them at the Harriet Beecher Stowe House Facebook page letting them know.
