Lincoln & Gilbert
WHRF is working with Pennrose to redevelop 2924 Gilbert Avenue, 933 Lincoln Avenue, and the block bounded by Gilbert Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, Foraker Avenue, and Monfort Street. The project site currently holds several existing vacant and dilapidated structures. On the site, the WHRF and Pennrose propose to demolish the existing structures and build an affordable, new construction development for individuals and families in four buildings. The project also includes on-site management, services, community space, and parking. The project hopes to enhance connections to public transit, including through a Red Bike station and relocated bus stop. WHRF and Pennrose are currently working to acquire Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to finance the project.
The Walnut Hills Area Council (WHAC) voted unanimously to approve this project in January 2019. WHAC unanimously approved this project again in January 2020 and Feburary 2021 (after changes were made to the original plan).
