ArtPlace Visit

An ArtPlace representative and Grant Panelist visited Walnut Hills on July 20th for an in-depth look at creative placemaking initiatives in Walnut Hills, and how we fit in their National Creative Placemaking Fund application process. Fingers crossed as we continue on our journey through the application process!

Here is a link to ArtPlace's list of 70 finalists.

CGC Tour in Walnut Hills

3 of the 4 community gardens visited by a Civic Garden Center tour were located in Walnut Hills! The tour visited spaces like Concord Garden, located at the intersection of Concord and Morgan Streets.

Harvest Day

On Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays in Walnut Hills, you can expect to see a shipping container or a produce-truck in the old Kroger parking lot at 954 East McMillan. Harvest Days (Mon), Findlay Farmstand (Thur), and Healthy Harvest Mobile Market (Fri) do their part to provide fresh, healthy, affordable options to residents and commuters.

May Street Orchard

Volunteers planted 19 fruit trees (apple, pear, peach, plum and cherry) and a variety of berry bushes and plants at the newly transformed lot north of William Howard Taft on May St.  Big shout out to Keep Cincinnati Beautiful and GE Finance department for helping prep the lot, and to Oswald Insurance for planting!  Thanks to Hafner & Sons for donating topsoil, too!
