Healthy Foods at Local Store
WLWT reported on a local business's efforts to provide healthy foods on a post-Kroger East McMillan St, and how Walnut Hills resident Nicole Jones and others have been affected by living in a food desert. Local business owner Gayle Givens referenced how she's moving her store, Zweets, to be more health-oriented by working with Center for Closing the Health Gap to have a produce display and cooler, ordering produce from North College Hill coop farm, Our Harvest, and providing space for local chef, Trinidad Mac-Auliffe, to offer her healthy fast food like collard wraps, hummus, and healthy juices. Healthy Outreach Coordinator Gary Dangel discusses our efforts to improve food access by having three farm stands throughout the week during the summer months in the full article from WLWT.
